Remembering 'The King of Pop'

Entertainer Michael Jackson (age 50) has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. Read more about it here.

This could possibly be the most shocking death of an entertainment superstar since John Lennon in 1980. In the 1980s, Michael Jackson was the biggest star in the world. He was undoubtedly the biggest musician of my lifetime. He revolutionized the music video. His most famous album, Thriller is the world's best selling album of all time. Songs like "Billie Jean", "Beat It" and "Thriller" will live on for centuries. He was truly a musical legend.

Today I kindly ask everyone to put Michael's troubled personal issues and molestation allegations aside, and pay respect to the extraordinary life of 'The King of Pop.' He was a greatly gifted artist, but also he was the father of three children. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Please watch this video of M.J. as he debuted his signature "moonwalk" while performing "Billie Jean" on the Motown 25th anniversary special:
