So it has been way too long since I put together one of these lists. This one in particular has taken me way too long to put together, but it is finally complete. This list consists of what I think are the 'Best Music Moments in Film'. This could mean a song playing during the opening/closing credits as well as a song accompanying or performed in a scene of the movie. Feel free to share your thoughts / moments I may have left out!
20. "I'll Be There For You" by Bon Jovi (A Lot Like Love)

Ashton Kutcher shows off his singing / guitar playing skills as he nervously serenades Amanda Peet's character outside of her apartment.
19. "School of Rock" by School of Rock (School of Rock)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Jack Black and his super group of prep school rock stars perform at a Battle of Bands in front of a huge audience including their angry, disapproving parents.
18. "Anyone Else But You" by The Moldy Peaches (Juno)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
This movie ends as Michael Cera and Ellen Page perform a song written by Kimya Dawson (who contributed to a majority of the songs in the movie)
17. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor (Rocky III)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
It's almost impossible to visualize a training montage sequence without 'Eye of the Tiger' (or anything from the Rocky soundtrack for that matter) playing in the background.
16. "Somebody Kill Me Please" by Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Adam Sandler pours out his post-break up emotions through an original song inspired by The Cure to a shocked, but supportive Drew Barrymore.
15. "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry (Back to the Future)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly shows off his guitar moves (from the future) at a high school dance in 1955.
14. "Canned Heat" by Jamiroquai (Napoleon Dynamite)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Napoleon (Jon Heder) shows off his sweet dance moves in hopes of being elected class president.
13. "Shout" by Otis Day & the Knights (Animal House)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Probably one of the most famous party scenes in film history. TOGA TOGA TOGA!
12. "Old Time Rock & Roll" by Bob Seger (Risky Business)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
This scene has been parodied so many times that even if you have never seen Risky Business, I am sure you are familiar with this scene. I am sure women STILL go crazy over a young Tom Cruise dancing around in his underwear.
11. "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion (Titanic)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
This song plays so many times throughout the movie that it is hard to just pick one scene, but the ending sequence is probably the most memorable.
TOP TEN
10. "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by Frankie Valli (10 Things I Hate About You)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
The late Heath Ledger shows off his pipes as he tries to win over Julia Stiles at the risk of getting in trouble.
9. "Afternoon Delight" by Starland Vocal Band (Anchorman)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Will Ferrell and gang demonstrate the comedy of randomly bursting into song.
8. "Where Is My Mind?" by The Pixies (Fight Club)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
The perfect song to end this movie. It is now hard for me to heard that intro riff with picturing a bunch of buildings collapsing.
7. "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel (Reservoir Dogs)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
An ironic choice of song to accompany a gory torture scene. Tarantino is the master of choosing songs that completely contrast the mood of what is happening on screen.
6. "Damn It Feels Good 2 Be A Gangsta" by Geto Boys (Office Space)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
The perfect song to capture Peter's new "I don't give a shit" attitude towards working in an office.
5. "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel (Say Anything)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Another famous scene that has been parodied / referenced countless times. This scene epitomizes the reason why so many girls wish they were dating Lloyd Dobler (Cusack).
4. "Mad World" by Michael Andrews & Gary Jules (Donnie Darko)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
This haunting rendition of an old Tears for Fears song truly captures the overall mood in the end of this film.
3. "Twist and Shout" by The Beatles (Ferris Bueller's Day Off)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Nothing is better than ditching school and parading the streets of Chicago. Matthew Broderick does a great job of lip syncing a famous Beatles tune and getting pretty much everyone in Chicago to participate.
2. "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John (Almost Famous)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
The perfect sing-a-long song to lighten the mood after an awkward situation. A long bus ride isn't complete without an Elton John sing-a-long.
1. "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen (Wayne's World)
http://www.youtube.com/wat
Is it even possible to listen to the breakdown of this song with banging your head like Wayne and Garth?? In my opinion, this is by far the best music moment in film history.
