2009 Emmy Awards Nominees

The nominees for the 2009 Emmy Awards were announced earlier this morning. Tina Fey's 30 Rock leads the way with a whopping 22 nominations (breaking the record for nominations it set last year with 17 bids). Last year's other big winner, Mad Men received 16 nominations.

Notable surprises include Fox's animated series Family Guy and HBO's Flight of the Conchords both received nominations for "Best Comedy Series." Family Guy actually made history today by becoming the first animated show in 40 years to get nominated for "Best Comedy Series."
